GYMNASTICS FOR ALL

High Green Gymnastics Academy is a well established club, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Our coaching team are all insured and qualified through British Gymnastics and adhere to British Gymnastics and our own policies and procedures.

We are predominantly a Women’s Artistic Club with a full Women’s Artistic set up.
We also offer, Pre School Gymnastics, General Gymnastics For All as well as Adults Gymnastics.

The club was established in 2013 by Head Coach, Paige Louise Marriott, the club initially started with 100 members, two qualified coaches, three days a week and a small equipment set up which was packed away after each evening. We have since grown and have a large coaching team, over 500 members, a successful Women’s Artistic Competitive Squad and a full Women’s Artistic Set Up which is permanent in our original, dedicated space.

Class Types

Pre School Gymnastics Classes

These classes are a great option for children between 18 months and four years old to get involved in gymnastics whether that be with an adult or independent. Our classes are run by qualified Pre School Coaches, these sessions are accompanied by a different book theme each block with accompanying music, hand apparatus and stations. These classes are predominantly midweek, daytime.

Under 5’s Foundation Classes

These classes teach the fundamentals of gymnastics, jumping, landing, using basic equipment and enjoying gymnastics in an independent class. These classes are predominantly, midweek evenings and Saturday morning.

Foundation Classes

This is where we start the gymnastics process, learning how to use a springboard, basic skills such as forwards and backwards rolls. Basic handstand shaping and working on some equipment, once the gymnasts are competent, confident and consistent in all of these areas the gymnasts will move up into a Beginners Class. These classes are predominantly, midweek evenings and Saturday morning.

Beginners Classes

This is our middle stage at High Green Gymnastics Academy, here we progress the gymnasts skills on floor and vault to more advanced basic skills such as; straight leg backward rolls, full handstand, cartwheels as well as teaching the gymnasts harder vaulting techniques incorporating arm circle vaults and progressing the gymnasts squat on and forward roll vault. The gymnasts are also introduced to basic skills on beam and bars here too. Once the gymnasts are competent, confident and consistent in all of these areas the gymnasts will move up into an Advanced Class. These classes are predominantly, midweek evenings and Saturday morning.

Advanced Classes

This is our top, most advanced session within our General Gymnastics programme. Here gymnasts progress all their Fundamental Gymnastics skills that have been learnt within our Foundation and Beginners Classes and work towards advanced skills such as but not limited to; walkovers, handsprings, flicks on floor, as well as further advanced skills on vault, beam and bars. These sessions are held within our Advanced Classes as well but train additionally alongside our Women’s Artistic Development Squad, this is a new programme we started in 2022, gymnasts who are selected will be working progressively towards skills that may be needed for competition.
